Curbside Pickup Information
CR&R Recommends the Following On Collection Day- Containers should be placed in the alley or curbside no later than 6:00 a.m. on collection day.
- Please place your carts side-by-side approximately one (1) foot apart and at least three (3) feet from any obstruction (i.e. car, fire hydrant, trees)
- Place your carts with the handles and wheels facing towards your home.
- Containers should be removed from curbside within 12 hours after service.
- Items not in containers will not be collected. Please make arrangements with customer service for overflow or a bulk item collection.
- Each resident will receive a set of three specially designed 96 gallon automated carts with attached lid and wheels.
Cart Reminders
- The black container is for regular refuse.
- The blue container is for recyclables.
- The green container is for green waste.

If the holiday falls during the week, service postponed by one day the remainder of the week. Example: If Independence Day is a Monday, and your normal collection day is Thursday, we'll see you on Friday.

You may order an additional trash cart for a nominal charge by contacting customer service.
If your cart becomes damaged due to normal wear and tear you may contact customer service to have it exhanged. We
perform exchanges on your normal collection day by separate truck.Special Collections
- 3 Yard Temporary Bin - 4'H x 4'W x 6'9"L for clean up projects - 500 lb limit
Larger waste collection containers (from 10 to 40 yards) are available for clean-up projects and other disposal needs.

Recycling
Christmas tree collection will begin on December 26th for a two week period. Please remove all ornaments, lights, stands, and cut the tree in half if over 6 feet tall. If possible, please place your tree bottom first and upright in your green waste container. If you cannot use the green waste container or do not have one, place your tree curbside on your service day and our tree collectors will come by in a separate truck, there is no need to call the office.It's important to identify and remove materials unsuitable for recycling. Please review this section for more information on what's acceptable and unacceptable for Recycling. If you have questions about how to join the recycling program in your area, or plan a clean-up project, please contact the office located closest to you.

Hazardous Waste
It is illegal to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) through the automated residential collection program. HHW must be disposed of at a certified hazardous waste collection center. Residents may take their HHW to 702 East Heil open on Saturday from 8:00 am until 12 noon. You may call them at (877) 732-9253 for additional information. CR&R also provides curbside used oil and oil filter collection, additional information on this program is available by clicking on the special services section.Household Hazardous Waste includes, but is not limited to:

Electronic Waste
Electronic waste (E-waste) is an item such as a computer monitor, television, cell phone or other like materials. Due to the high amounts of lead and chemicals found in E-waste, they are not allowed into local landfills. CR&R will collect these items as part of your bulk item collection.Refrigerators contain Freon and other chemicals which require special handling as well. CR&R will collect these items from your collection point as a bulk item pick up, to arrange a curbside pick-up for E-waste or a refrigerator, please contact customer service at (760)482-5656.

Bulky Items
Items that cannot fit in your automated containers, such as a chair or a couch, are considered "bulk items." A bulk item is an object that can be handled by a two-person crew and may include washers, dryers, sofas or other large materials. Each residential customer is entitled to two (2) bulky item pick-ups free of charge per calendar year of four items per pick up. Additional bulky item pick-ups will be provided for a nominal charge. Special Services
Residents of Holtville may dump for free at the CR&R facility located at: 599 E. Main Street, El Centro. Please note that no construction material, household hazardous material or business waste is accepted. Please be prepared to show proof of residency (drivers license & water bill).Used oil containers and filters are collected curbside in provided containers with service performed on your regular collection day. CR&R will distribute used oil collection containers and filter bags as requested and also provide replacement containers when service is performed.
To arrange for a pickup, call our Customer Service. This special waste collection service is performed by a separate vehicle. For additional questions regarding the used oil program or to receive collection containers please contact customer service at (760)482-5656.
CR&R provides for the free disposal of material by residents at our facility located at 599 East Main Street. Service hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Residents must bring in a current water bill and his/her identification. Construction and Demolition material is excluded from free Disposal. Please check in at the office.
