Commercial Container Sizes
Our commercial containers range in size from 2,3,4 and 6 cubic yards with regular weekly service from Monday through Saturday. In addition, 3 and 4 cubic yard split bins are available for locations with limited space to support a recycle program. Special service such as locking containers and roll out service may be arranged to assist with special needs. Commercial bins are placed at both multifamily residential and businesses complexes.CR&R also provides service to customer owned compactor containers and self contained compactor units. Service is provided on an on call basis or on a regular schedule of pickups.
Construction/Demolition Box
Our 40 yard Boxes are recommended for large Construction projects and Demolition Waste Hauling. Service is provided on a will call basis or with regularly scheduled pick-ups.Concrete/Asphalt Box
Our 10 yard Concrete/Asphalt Boxes are recommended for projects requiring concrete, asphalt and disposal of all dense material. Service is provided on a will call basis or with regularly scheduled pick-ups.Clean-up Bins
Our 3 yard Clean-up Bins are for tighter locations and smaller projects with limited space. Service is provided on a will call basis or with regularly scheduled pick-ups. -
Contamination and Monitoring
In accordance with SB 1383, CR&R will be performing an annual audit for every commercial business in Lake Forest.The goal of each audit is to ensure businesses are properly source separating materials, and SB 1383-established diversion goals are achieved. CR&R and the City of Lake Forest will track incidences of contamination and continuously educate businesses.
Non-containerization
CR&R and City will enforce a new requirement that prohibit non-containerization of landfill, recyclable, and organic materials.Please click HERE for more information about the prohibition of non-containerization within Lake Forest.

How to Effectively Recycle
Mixed-use Recycling
CR&R's Mixed Recycling Program is requirement in accordance with SB 1383. Businesses that generate a variety of recyclables like plastic bottles/containers, glass bottles/containers, aluminum, mixed papers and cardboard, can mix these recyclables together in either a 2-, 3-, or 4-cubic yard bin. Smaller quantity generators may order 35-, 65- or 95-gallon carts for once a week service.Lake Forest Sustainability Specialists are available to assist your business with right-sizing to successfully implement recycling programs.
To successfully implement a recycling program at your business, follow these steps and recycling tips:
- Educate Tenants and Staff: Conduct training on what is recyclable
- Install Proper Signage and Sort Internally: Provide visuals to assist with recycling and place containers in convenient locations inside your business

Flatten Cardboard boxes: Flattening cardboard maximizes space in recycling containers
No Plastic bags or liners in your recycling container: Recyclable materials should be unbagged when placed in CR&R recycling containers.Organics Recycling
Subscribe to organics services: CR&R has developed a food scrap recycling program to assist businesses in complying with State law. Food scraps include fruits, vegetables, bread, fish, meat, etc. Please contact CR&R’s Customer Service department at (949) 520-6005 to start organics service.Food Donation: Donate food to a food bank or other food rescue organization. Source reduction through food donation is an acceptable program and helps fight hunger in the community.
Landscaping services: If you contract with a landscape company, have them take your green waste to a composting/recycling facility.
For businesses that generate organic waste, such as food scraps and yard trimmings, SB 1383 requires that an organics program is implemented on-site to ensure diversion of food waste from our local landfills.Businesses such as restaurants, cafes, and hotels are required to implement organics programs throughout the state to reduce methane emissions as a result of organic waste decomposition.
To effectively recycle organic waste at your business, follow these steps:
- Educate staff
- Install signage and an internal organic waste collection system: Installing internal organics collection systems highly recommended to recover and divert organic material.
Front-of-house source separation: If your business allows customers to dispose of their waste inside, you are subject to AB 827.
The law requires food generating businesses to have front-of-house source separation waste containers for customer use.
Back-of-house source separation: To effectively source separate organic waste, your business should source separate in kitchens or meal prepping stations.
CR&R offers one (1) complimentary 35-gallon slim jim for commercial businesses, intended to separate food scraps from landfill or recyclable materials.

- Disposal: To properly dispose your organic waste in the organics container, line your internal organics collection container with a BPI Certified Compostable Bag.
- Donate Leftover or Unsold Food to an Edible Food Recovery Agency: Partner with an Orange County food recovery organization and coordinate the retrieval of donated food from your business to a local shelter, food kitchen, pantry, or mission

Bulky Items
Items that cannot properly fit in your container, such as a chair or desk, are considered bulky items and require a special pickup. Commercial business owners are entitled to four (4) bulky item pickup per year, with ten (10) items per pickup.

Hazardous Waste
Hazardous Wastes are products that are flammable, corrosive, reactive or toxic. It is illegal to dispose of hazardous waste in any of your CR&R containers.Hazardous waste must be properly disposed of through a hazardous waste company.
Items considered hazardous include automotive fluids, propane, paint, solvents, cleaning products, medical sharps, pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, pool chemicals, electronics, and non-empty aerosol cans.For a resource listing of hazardous waste companies within Orange County, visit www.oclandfills.com.
Electronic or E-Waste MAY NOT be disposed of in your bins. E-Waste includes but is not limited to computer equipment, monitors, television sets and cellular phones.

Special Services
Commercial Wheel Out Services
CR&R staff will collect your containers from your enclosure with a distance of 0’ to 25’ and put them back after service for no charge.CR&R staff can collect your containers from your enclosure within a distance between 25-feet to 75-feet and put them back after service for a monthly fee per container. Charges vary based on distance.
Commercial Scout Service
If your bins are further than 75-feet, CR&R staff will collect your containers using a stinger truck for a monthly fee per container.Temporary Services

If the holiday falls during the week, service postponed by one day the remainder of the week. Example: If Independence Day is a Monday, and your normal collection day is Thursday, we'll see you on Friday.
