Curbside Pickup Information
CR&R Recommends the Following On Collection Day- Carts should be placed at curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on collection day.
- Please place your carts side-by-side approximately one (1) foot apart and at least three (3) feet from any obstruction (i.e. car, fire hydrant, trees).
- Place your carts with the handles and wheels facing towards your home.
- Please remove from curbside within 12 hours after service. Items not in carts will not be collected.
Cart Reminders
- The blue cart is for recyclables.
- The gray cart is for waste.
- The green cart is for green waste

Holiday Schedule

If the holiday falls during the week, service postponed by one day the remainder of the week. Example: If Independence Day is a Monday, and your normal collection day is Thursday, we'll see you on Friday.

Container Information
Approximate Container Sizes AvailableResidents may order the following size(s) of containers.
- 35-gallon automated cart (38.50”H x 19.25”W x 24.25”D)
- 65-gallon automated cart (41.75″H x 24.25″W x 31.75″D)
- 95-gallon automated cart (43.25”H x 29.75”W x 35.25”D)
Each residential customer is provided a set of carts included in their City Billing rate. If you generate more recyclables and green waste on a consistent basis, you may order additional recyclables carts and up to two (2) additional green waste carts at no additional charge. Charges will apply for the fourth green waste cart.
Special Collections
Larger waste collection containers (from 3 to 40 yards) are available for clean-up projects and other disposal needs. -
Recycling
It’s important to identify and remove materials unsuitable for recycling. Hazardous Waste
Household hazardous waste (HHW) is any type of household product that requires special handling under environmental law and prohibits disposal with regular waste (trash). CR&R will hold weekend HHW collection events twice annually for the collection of items listed below as part of your regular service with CR&R.Examples:

- Paint and Solvents
- Pesticides, Herbicides
- Pool Chemicals
- Non-Empty Aerosol Cans
Events are currently held in spring and fall each year.
Year-round HHW Program
Orange County residents can use the free permanent drop-off centers operated by the County of Orange and available year round for proper disposal of hazardous waste. The center located nearest La Habra is at 1071 N. Blue Gum Street Anaheim, CA 92806. Visit www.oclandfills.com or call the County’s hotline at 714-834-6752 for more information.

Bulky Items
Items that cannot fit in your automated carts are considered "bulky items." CR&R will provide up to four (4) bulky item collections per calendar year. A bulky item consists of up to four (4) items per pick up or up to 20 bags. The service is provided at no additional cost. Additional pickups may be arranged for a nominal charge.Common bulky items include:
- Couches
- Desks
- Chairs
- Tables
- Mattresses
- Excess Green Waste
- Sleeper couches
- Range
- Washer/Dryer
White Goods Household Appliances
White goods and household appliances containing Freon, such as refrigerators, are picked up similar to a bulky item. CR&R will collect bulky items and white goods from your curbside.
E-waste
Electronic waste (e-waste) is anything with a circuit board or battery. It is illegal to dispose of e-waste in any of your automated carts. CR&R will collect and legally dispose of and recycle these items.
Examples of e-waste include:
- Monitors
- Computers
- Televisions
- Cell phones
- Printers
- Microwaves
Universal Waste
Universal wastes are hazardous wastes that contain mercury, lead, cadmium, copper, and other substances hazardous to human and environmental health. In general, universal waste may not be discarded in solid waste landfills or placed in any of your automated carts. If you have the following universal waste items, CR&R will collect them from your residence as part of the bulky item program.
- Household batteries
- Fluorescent bulbs
To make arrangements for a bulky item pick-up on your regular waste collection day through our online scheduling service, you need to set up an online account using your account number and access code. If you are not billed directly by CR&R please email us on our “Contact Us” page or call our Customer Service department at (562) 694-3730 to obtain this information. If you have already established an online account and wish to order a bulky item pick-up, please use our Online Scheduling Service.

Special Services
Customers with disabilities may request pull out service at no additional charge, proof of disability will be required.Christmas tree recycling will occur annually for a full three weeks following December 25th. We ask that you place your tree at the curb on your regular collection day, remove all ornaments and the tree stand. If the tree is over 6’ tall please cut it in half. Our tree collectors will remove your tree without having to call our office.
