Special Services
Christmas tree collection will occur during a two-week period immediately following the New Year’s Day Holiday. Please do not place your tree out on the street before January 1st. On collection day, place your tree on the ground next to your trash containers.Remember to:
- Remove all ornaments, lights, tinsel and the tree stand.
- Do not bag trees in plastic.
- Trees taller than 6 feet must be cut in half.
- Flocked trees cannot be recycled; therefore they must be placed in the black-lid Landfill Cart.
Christmas trees and other holiday greenery can also be placed in the Organics cart. Christmas trees placed in carts should be broken down to ensure that the lid can be closed.
Trees are recycled into renewable natural gas, which is used to fuel CR&R's collection fleet, and nutrient-rich compost that is distributed to residents at our annual Compost Giveaway event.
