Ciudad de Lake Elsinore – Barrido de la calle
An extensive street sweeping program helps the City meet the permit requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Discharge System (NPDES) by removing contaminants, debris and sediments on City streets that might otherwise enter the storm drainage system. The water that enters the storm drainage system goes directly to our streams, rivers, lakes and beaches. You can help keep our waters clean by not leaving trash, garden waste or leaves on the street and / or gutters. Leaves and other garden waste should be placed inside your green garbage cart for collection and recycling. If necessary, notify your garden service company of this requirement.
Please do not allow any contaminants to enter the storm drain system. You should keep in mind that allowing the runoff of private properties that contain soaps, degreasers, motor oil and other automotive fluids, lawn and garden chemicals, paint, pet waste or other household waste to enter the storm drain system is a violation of Riverside Municipal Code. Consider the use of biodegradable and environmentally friendly products for cleaning and landscape maintenance. You can help protect our natural resources by protecting our environment and keeping our gutters and streets clean!
Observe the following guidelines for street sweeping service:
- Please move all vehicles off the street during the times / days posted for street sweeping.
- Please make sure all trash containers and recreational items such as basketball hoops are removed from the canal area on your day of service.
- Do not rake or blow leaves / grass in the gutter or streets. Instead, place them inside your automated green trash container to pick it up on your scheduled collection day.
Services are not performed on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Working day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas day
If your sweeping day falls on any of the mentioned holidays, it will be swept on your next regularly scheduled sweeping day.
Sweeping operations cannot occur during inclement weather (for example, heavy rains and strong winds). Please call (951) 943-1991 on inclement weather days to receive updated information.
